The Pont

The Pont is the museum for contemporary art in Tilburg. It is named after the lawyer and businessman Jan de Pont, from whose estate the museum could be established. You will see works by various artists and three times a year there is a larger exhibition. The museum building itself – a former wool spinning mill – is also worth a visit with its large bright hall and intimate “wool pens”. The visit begins before the entrance: walk through the pond garden with the monumental sculpture ‘Sky Mirror’ by artist Anish Kapoor.

Dwaalgebied

Forget the time while you (re)wander the narrow streets of the Tilburg Dwaalgebied. A place with stately buildings and stores of quirky entrepreneurs. From the characteristic Vijfsprong, discover Noordstraat, Korte Schijfstraat, Nieuwlandstraat, Tuinstraat and Stationsstraat. Each of these streets is home to cozy coffee shops, trendy lunch counters and surprising stores. Wander the streets and look up every now and then to marvel at the beautiful facades in the Dwaalgebied. Oh, and with a little luck you’ll find the Dwalerij. A Sunday market with beautiful products from the shopkeepers and local craftsmen.

Efteling

Exciting roller coasters, beautiful attractions and spectacular park shows. Just fifteen minutes drive from Tilburg you will find the Netherlands’ largest theme park: the Efteling. Fun for the little ones, but certainly for adults. Be enchanted during a walk through the fairytale forest, take a ride through the realm of fantasy in the newest family attraction Symbolica and scream out with joy (or fear) in the roller coaster Baron 1898. Of course you can also grab a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants. Tip: end the day with the Aquanura water show, the perfect ending to a great day out.

Koningshoeven

On the outskirts of Tilburg you will find a beautiful Trappist monastery: Abdij Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven. Here they continue to build on centuries-old traditions. Values such as silence and prayer are central to the monks. Special beer lovers beware: the monks of this abbey have been brewing their own Trappist beer, La Trappe, since 1884. The monastery has a beautiful garden, where you can enjoy a delicious beer and local and organic snacks, such as Trappist bread, abbey cheese and Quadrupel beer balls. In case of inclement weather, take a seat in the cozy Tasting Room.

National Park de Loonse en Drunense duinen

Nature lovers will find what they are looking for in the surroundings of Tilburg. At a stone’s throw from our hotel you will find the National Park the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Perfect for a wonderful walk or bike ride. Stroll through the varied landscape of grass, marshland, heath and not forgetting… dunes! Thanks to the large area of drifting sand, this park is also called the ‘Brabant Sahara’. Need a break? Picnicking is delicious in this area or plop down for a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch at the various catering outlets. Also fun: Natuurmonumenten regularly organizes activities such as a silence walk or a midsummer night walk in the area.

Natuurmuseum Brabant

At the Natuurmuseum Brabant in Tilburg, you’ll be in touch with nature. Admire the museum’s enormous sperm whale, learn all about the ice age and take a look at the temporary exhibitions. Natuurmuseum Brabant has been voted the most kid-friendly museum of North Brabant for years. And with good reason! Children can expend all their energy there. Little ones aged 4 to 8 can experience the seasons in BOS. And from the age of 8 children can even do their own nature research in the OO – ZONE. An outing the whole family will enjoy!

Piushaven

In Piushaven, it is not difficult to blow with the wind. The city’s former industrial harbor now serves as a bustling place to live, work and recreate. A dynamic district where you can rent a boat to discover Tilburg from the water. But there is also plenty to do on land. Take a seat at one of the terraces on the waterfront, visit the original stores or take a stroll along the harbor, a 1,5 kilometer round trip. Moreover, Piushaven is the gateway to Moerenburg. A nature reserve where you can literally leave the turmoil of city life behind for a while.

Safaripark Beekse Bergen

You don’t have to go to Africa for a safari. Just a fifteen minute drive from our hotel you can spot lions and giraffes. Will you go on safari in your own car or will you get on board with the expert drivers of the safari bus? Even a relaxing boat trip is among the possibilities. At Safaripark Beekse Bergen you will, in any case, stand eye to eye with the toughest animals in the animal kingdom. Next to the park you will find Speelland. Here you will find everything your young children need to splash and play for a whole day, while you enjoy the sandy beach.

Spoorzone

Tilburg is a city with a raw edge. You’ll discover this best when you wander through the Spoorzone. An area in the middle of the city, right next to the railway station, which is developing rapidly. Much beauty has already been created and at the same time there is still a lot of work to be done. That makes your visit extra interesting. Refined catering establishments fit in seamlessly with the rough, industrial buildings of the former NS workshop. In the place where railcars used to be repaired, you will now find lifestyle markets, food festivals or a piece of the Tilburg Fair. It just depends on the moment when you walk in. Take a look at the Hall of Fame: a cultural factory founded by Tilburg’s youth. In January 2019, the LocHal opened: this beautifully renovated building is now home to the new Library, Seats2Meet and Kunsloc Brabant.

But it doesn’t stop here. In May 2019, Doloris opened its doors: a gigantic maze, in which you are surrounded by art. After visiting this maze, you can take a seat on the roof terrace, with breathtaking views of Tilburg.

Theaters Tilburg

Taste the magic of the theater. With some 350 performances each year, Theaters Tilburg’s concert hall, theater, and cozy studio auditorium offer something for every visitor. Here you are guaranteed a relaxing evening out. With its distinctive programming, the city’s stage has plenty of room for cabaret, dance, musical, theater, pop and classical music. Just as colorful as the program is the special light artwork by artist Peter Struycken on the ceiling of the modern and widely acclaimed concert hall. In the crystal clear space, fluorescent lighting in red, green and blue creates an amazing contrast.
