Experience the splashing opening of the PlayFountain on Pieter Vreedeplein: The Tilburg Water Festival!
Summer in Tilburg is in full swing and the Pieter Vreedeplein is all about splashing fun and refreshing water fun this August! On 9 and 10 August, the brand-new PlayFountain will be festively opened with Het Tilburgs Waterfestijn. Get ready for an unforgettable event that will surprise young and old alike with watery adventure and fun activities!
Play and refresh in the PlayFountain
From 3 August to 2 September, the PlayFountain offers a unique water experience on Pieter Vreedeplein every day from 10 am to 10 pm. With a surface area of 100 m² and 1024 water jets, combined with interactive water games, lighting and music, this fountain offers endless entertainment for visitors of all ages. Besides the water fun, you can enjoy the pop-up parks, where you can relax, have lunch, work or participate in free workshops. For the little ones, there is a picnic area and various chalk games around the PlayFountain.
The Tilburg Water Festival on 9 & 10 August
On 9 August at noon marks the official opening of the PlayFountain with a festive ceremony, which will be attended by the Municipality of Tilburg, the Ondernemersfonds Binnenstad Tilburg (OF, part of BMT) and Wereldhave. After the opening speech, the first jets of water will be activated and Het Tilburgs Waterfestijn will begin! On 9 and 10 August, visitors can take part in two spectacular water battles between 12.00 and 17.00: the 'Blocks Battle' and the 'Jug Race'.
Join the water battles and win prizes!
During the 'Blocks Battle', pairs compete to build the highest tower with XL foam blocks while trying to prevent their vest from filling up with water. In the 'Jug Race', pairs must carry as much water as possible to the other side on an inflatable belly slide. Use the coloured pitchers and brave the slippery track to win. The winning teams are rewarded with fun prizes and an energetic host provides the necessary entertainment and encouragement.
